Since the first graduating class in 1887, Whiting Community School has had a tradition of pride, academic excellence and community support.
In 2005, the Whiting High School received the United States Department of Education's Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award. With only 295 schools in the nation receiving this honor Superintendent Myron Ballain and English teacher Myrna Hall traveled to Washington D.C. to accept the award.
In 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 the Whiting High School was nationally recognized. This time by U.S. News and World Report as on of "America's Best High Schools." This designation was bestowed on the top 10% of schools in the nation.
We have a lot to be proud of at Whiting High School and expect even greater things to come!
